6 Penny pinching party ideas that won't break the bank.
1. Book Club. Super Easy & FREE. How to do it? The best way is to find a resident that you know loves books and isn't too overly shy. If you don't know anyone that would be willing to be the book club leader, start asking around. Post flyers in your mail room and leasing office, send out an email request, and of course don't forget to post on Facebook!
Even if you cannot find a leader, you or someone in your office can get it going until you have enough folks to run it themselves. Keep the office open late one night a month, have that be your "Open Late for Renewal Signing AND Book Club! Win, Win!
2. Host a Potluck ! Who doesn't love food? The best day to do this would be a Saturday afternoon. People will have time to cook and most likely be home. Pick a theme, Italian or Mexican or maybe if it's winter time and cold out do a "comfort food" Saturday. It is a great way for your residents to get to know each other and for new move-in prospects to see what fun events your community has in store for them. You could even have a contest for the best dish, best dessert, and best side for $10 or $20 off next months rent.
3. Viewing Party! Do you have a flat screen TV in your club house? Pick a popular show, like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead or the Grammy's to have a BYOB (Bring your own beverage) and we'll provide the popcorn viewing party. If your budget is tight, just purchase some microwave popcorn bags and toss in huge plastic bowls from the dollar store and call it a successful night!
4. Host a Chili Cook-off (or a Bake-off). Just like a potluck, but everyone loves to compete and show off their best family recipe. Have it on a Sunday afternoon in the fall, put the Texans on the TV for some entertainment and enjoy the weather. Don't forget to have lots of small tasting bowls, spoons, & most important a good score card!
No money for a prize? Hit up your local eateries, dry cleaners, or sports bars, for gift cards & invite them to join in the fun, they get to promote their local business in doing so, to dozens of residents.
5. Pumpkins & Pizza Party. They bring their pumpkins to carve and you provide Domino's, newspapers and dollar store carving tools. This would be very easy to pull off. Especially if the weather is nice, have it outside. This time of year in Texas is now to be outside! Start collecting newspapers for them to carve the pumpkin on!
